SoundSteps - International Dance and Music Youth Exchange - HAMBURG

SoundSteps is an international exchange for 40 young dancers and musicians living in Ukraine, France, Germany, Armenia, Greece and Morocco.

When?
06-21 August 2022.
Preparation Weekend on June 18-19 2022 (online).

What is the project about?
Taking part in SoundSteps means to create a dance and music performance on the topic “responsibility” in an international group. All backgrounds, levels and styles of dance and music are welcome.
The rehearsals (6 hours a day) include:
Work on the topic responsibility:
You will receive input, but should also be willing to share your own perspective.
Dance and/or music activities:
You should be open to improvise and to try something new.
Workshops given by professional artists (dancers and musicians):

Public performance
Other activities:
Exploring Hamburg and its theatres/cultural venues
Intercultural Evenings
Optional leisure activities like picnic, jam session, movie night.

How is the project financed?
All costs including travel, accommodation, meals and programme are covered. Participants contribute a small participation fee.

Am I eligible?
Ideally you
…are between 18 and 26 years old
… have reside of Ukraine
…are passionate for dance and/or music: all styles, all levels are welcome!
…are willing to rehearse 6 hours a day in an international team
…have basic English skills
…can participate in both the preparation weekend (in your country of residence) and the main project (in Hamburg, Germany)
